… you discuss sand castle landscaping. Here is a fine example that probably looked even better before it got a night’s worth of rain. Note the minimal yet effective use of beach grasses and other plants to lightly adorn the structure.

It reminds me that the grasses are themselves guardians of a fortress of sorts—the dune system that keeps this beach viable. In any case, it’s one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen, and the limited variety of plants that inhabit add to its beauty. Here’s a storm approaching:

Can you guess where this is? I admit I’ve not given many visual clues, but some might be able to.

  1. That first picture is so intriguing…delicate hardscaping with shells, tiny steps leading up to…an old ballcap? As for location, seems like an east coast beach, but that’s as far as I can guess!
